Success StoriesThe Missing Piece of the Marketing Puzzle

A short time ago, we had the opportunity to talk to Darrin, a sole proprietor with over 20 years of experience.

He had been using the Snappy Kraken platform for three weeks, and reached out to us to tell us about his experience.

You’ll see why he was so excited to share the details with us…including how he managed to snag a new client within three weeks of getting started.

Watch the video below for Darrin’s Story:

Ask Yourself: Are You a Financial Adviser or a Marketer?

As a sole-proprietor, Darrin was dealing with a frustration that’s common to so many financial advisers: how to grow your brand and become something bigger.

This can feel like an uphill battle.

And Darrin hit the nail on the head when he highlighted that the time it takes trying to grow a brand is time that you can’t spend doing what you love.

“If you really want to grow the brand, you’ve either got to do it yourself on a regular basis, or hire somebody to do it. And I’m not in this business to try to market the brand. I’m in this business to solve people’s financial problems.”

This is why Darrin decided to work with us at Snappy Kraken.

The Missing Piece

It’s fair to say that Darrin had some skepticism about our program – and we understand that.

After all, it can feel like relinquishing control, or taking a chance on the unknown.

But for Darrin, he was comforted by the fact that we believe in being open and transparent about the process (it’s why we launched our “Behind the Campaign” series, and showed you the work that went into it).

“Okay, you know if this is what it truly appears it can be, then this will finally be the missing piece of my whole puzzle of trying to grow the brand.“

The Completed Marketing Strategy

We’re grateful that Darrin decided to amplify his marketing with Snappy Kraken.

Shortly after running a few campaigns, Darrin got an email from the friend of someone he’d had coffee with – over a year ago.

That’s right – someone he hardly knew had referred Darrin to be his friend’s financial adviser.

At first Darrin was confused — where did this referral come from and how did it come about?

After all, a referral from someone you haven’t spoken to in over a year is a little rare.

It all became clear once Darrin took a look at his dashboard (on the Snappy Kraken platform)

The reason for the recent success became clear.

“I had sent 7 emails through different [Snappy Kraken] campaigns over this period, and he had read every single one of them.”

The consistency of marketing through Snappy Kraken had allowed Darrin to open up his network in order to cultivate leads that he’d never had time to reach out to before.

Marketing takes time, and it takes consistency.

It’s easy to write off this referral as an “instant success”, but that would be missing the point.

It still took 7 touches via email to (a) warm up the prospect and (b) stay top of mind enough to where he referred a friend just at the right time.

This is all part of a well-rounded marketing strategy.
