What Can I Do to Stop, Reschedule, or Delete a Campaign?

Sometimes You May Need to Alter the Campaigns' Send Times

Follow the instructions below to reschedule, stop, or delete a campaign.

Step 1: Go to My Content (in the upper right-hand corner of the page), then select My Campaigns from the drop-down menu

Step 2: On the next page, you'll see a list of all the campaigns you've created

Click the title of the campaign you want to change. The next page you'll see is the management page for the campaign.

Step 3: Scroll to the bottom of the page. You'll see two buttons on the left-hand side: Reschedule Campaign (If your campaign is not scheduled for today's date), Set Campaign Expiration, and Stop Campaign. On the right-hand side, you'll see a Delete Campaign button

For our AE Digital clients, you are unable to Delete campaigns. However, you can still Set Campaign Expiration and Stop Campaign.

Launching a stopped campaign

After you stop your campaign, follow these steps to relaunch it:

Step 1: Go to My Content > My Campaigns and open the campaign that you stopped

Step 2: Click on the Edit Campaign button

Step 3: Scroll to the bottom of the campaign editor and click on the Launch button

Step 4: Select the date and time to relaunch your campaign

Step 5: Add any subscribers, if needed

Important note:

There is no way to pause a campaign.

If the campaign is stopped once it's launched, it will restart from the beginning if you decide to relaunch it. When you relaunch it, there will be no, "turning it back on."

Restarting a campaign also restarts the campaign's timeline. The campaign does not resend any emails or repost any social media elements. Instead, the campaign will skip the features it has already sent out and will resume once it is time for the next part that has not yet been published.

For example:

  • Email 1 went out
  • The campaign stops, and email 2 does not go out
  • You relaunch the campaign
  • Email 1 does not go out this week
  • Email 2 will go out the following week
  • The campaign will resume its normal sequence
