What Are Some Best Practices for Setup When Advertising on My Own?

A Few Quick Tips For Advertising

To maximize advertising on your own, here are some "best practices" for setting up your Snappy Kraken campaign:

  1. Make a separate campaign and put Ad in the title. This makes it easier to find in the future. Here's how you can edit campaign titles.
  2. If you'd like your campaign metrics to read for advertising specifically, with no other metrics getting mixed in, you must disable all elements not being used. This includes Promotional Emails (NOTE: leave the Download Delivery Follow-ups enabled, LinkedIn Posts, Twitter Posts, and Website Widgets.) If you're running Boosts, leave the Facebook Posts enabled; disable them if you're running Ads.
  3. When building the Facebook Posts for Boosts, fill in the Personal Message section. This is the caption for the post; posts with captions perform better because this is the message that strangers see. This bit of text is what ropes them in and makes sense of the image they're seeing. So be sure that your text is engaging and explains the offer.
  4. Consider installing your Pixel into your campaign to get even more out of your Facebook ad. It's very easy to do!

If you follow these steps, your advertising metrics will be separate in the system and easy to track. For information on setting up ads within Facebook's Ads Manager, follow this link to Facebook's Help Center.
